Residential Support Worker – Children’s Home (Ascot, SL5)
Hourly Rate: £15.00 per hour + £60 per sleep-in

Greenacres Children’s Home provides high-quality residential care for children aged 8–18 years with complex and challenging behaviours, often associated with neurodiversity, learning disabilities, and emotional regulation needs.

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Residential Support Worker who is committed to making a genuine difference in young people’s lives. You will work within a supportive, trauma-informed team to provide day-to-day care, emotional support, and guidance to children in placement.

This role requires resilience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help children overcome challenges and achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide consistent, high-quality care to children and young people with complex needs and behaviours.
• Build strong, trusting relationships that promote safety, stability, and wellbeing.
• Support children in developing independence skills, emotional regulation, and positive social interactions.
• Promote education, recreational activities, and community engagement.
• Follow care plans and behaviour support plans, contributing to their ongoing development.
• Maintain accurate records, including daily reports, incident logs, and progress documentation.
• Participate in team meetings, reflective practice, and training sessions.
• Uphold safeguarding practices and ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children at all times.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience working with children or young people in a residential, SEN, or similar care setting.
• Full UK Driving Licence (Essential).
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to undergo one).
• Understanding of complex behaviours, autism, and trauma-informed approaches.
• Compassionate, resilient, and able to remain calm under pressure.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work towards Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (if not already held).

Schedule

• Full-time: 40 hours per week
• Rotational shifts, including some weekends and sleep-ins (as part of the rota)
